Terms of Service
The terms and conditions that apply when using FilePriv, including file processing, temporary storage, free usage, private tools, and FilePriv Pro.
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the FilePriv website and services. By accessing or using FilePriv, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
FilePriv provides online tools for processing, converting, preparing, and working with digital files. The service is designed primarily around temporary processing rather than permanent storage.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use FilePriv.
1. About FilePriv
FilePriv is an online file processing service providing various tools for working with supported digital files. Available functionality may include document conversion, image processing, metadata removal, private notes, and additional utilities introduced over time.
FilePriv may offer both free functionality and paid Pro functionality. Features, supported formats, usage limits, and technical capabilities may change as the service develops.
2. Eligibility
You may use FilePriv only if you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms and use the service under the laws applicable to you.
If you are using FilePriv on behalf of another person, organization, or entity, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of FilePriv complies with the laws and regulations applicable to you.
3. Using FilePriv
FilePriv is intended for legitimate personal, professional, educational, and other lawful file processing activities.
You agree to use the service responsibly and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass technical restrictions, abuse processing resources, or use FilePriv in a manner that could harm the service or other users.
Use FilePriv for lawful file processing activities that are consistent with the purpose of the service.
Do not deliberately consume excessive resources or interfere with normal service operation.
You are responsible for the files and content you choose to submit to the service.
Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to FilePriv systems, accounts, files, or infrastructure.
4. Uploaded Files
You retain responsibility for files that you upload to FilePriv. You must have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, or other legal authority to submit and process those files.
Uploading a file to FilePriv does not transfer ownership of that file to FilePriv.
You should not upload files containing information that you are legally prohibited from sharing with an online third party processing service.
You are also responsible for ensuring that your use of the service does not infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, contractual rights, or other legal rights.
5. Prohibited Content and Activities
You may not use FilePriv to facilitate unlawful activity or to intentionally abuse the service.
Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
- Using FilePriv for unlawful purposes.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to FilePriv systems or infrastructure.
- Attempting to circumvent usage limits or technical restrictions through abuse or automated manipulation.
- Uploading malicious software or files intended to damage, disrupt, or compromise systems.
- Attempting to interfere with the availability or performance of the service.
- Using automated systems in a manner that places unreasonable or abusive demand on FilePriv infrastructure.
- Using the service to violate another person's legal rights.
FilePriv may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, infrastructure, users, or third parties.
6. Temporary File Processing
FilePriv is primarily a processing service and is not intended to function as permanent cloud storage.
Uploaded files may be temporarily stored while a processing operation is waiting, running, or preparing a result for download.
Temporary files are automatically removed after they are no longer required by the relevant processing workflow.
You should therefore download completed results promptly and maintain your own backups of important files.
7. File Availability
FilePriv does not guarantee that an uploaded file or generated result will remain available indefinitely.
Files may become unavailable because of automatic cleanup, processing failures, technical problems, service maintenance, expiration rules, or other operational circumstances.
You are responsible for downloading and retaining any result that you need to keep.
8. Free Service
FilePriv may provide certain functionality without charge. Free functionality may be subject to usage limits designed to keep the service sustainable and available to users.
Free usage limits may be enforced through technical mechanisms such as anonymous browser identifiers or other service controls.
Free limits, available tools, supported formats, file size restrictions, and other free service characteristics may change over time.
9. FilePriv Pro
FilePriv may offer paid Pro functionality providing additional capacity, features, or usage allowances.
The exact features and limitations of a Pro plan are presented during the purchase process and may change for future purchases.
Purchasing Pro access does not create ownership of FilePriv itself or any underlying software, infrastructure, trademarks, or intellectual property.
10. Pro Payments
Pro purchases may be processed through a third party cryptocurrency payment service.
The payment process may involve a payment address, payment amount, payment reference, transaction identifier, and payment status.
Cryptocurrency transactions may be irreversible once broadcast or confirmed on the applicable blockchain network. Users are responsible for carefully checking payment details before sending funds.
FilePriv cannot reverse a blockchain transaction that has already been sent to an incorrect address or otherwise completed on the relevant network.
11. Pro Access Tokens
Pro access may be provided through an access token rather than a conventional username and password account.
A Pro access token should be treated as confidential. You are responsible for protecting the token from unauthorized disclosure.
If you intentionally share your access token with another person, that person may be able to use the associated Pro access.
FilePriv may suspend or invalidate access credentials where reasonably necessary to protect the service or enforce these Terms.
12. Private Notes
FilePriv may provide private note functionality allowing users to create temporary notes and, where supported, associate files or images with those notes.
Users are responsible for the content of their notes and for deciding whether information is appropriate to submit to an online service.
Private notes should not be treated as a guaranteed end-to-end encrypted communications system or permanent archival mechanism.
13. Metadata and Privacy Tools
FilePriv may provide tools designed to remove metadata or otherwise process information contained within supported files.
Such tools should be considered practical processing utilities rather than guarantees of complete anonymity.
Removing metadata from a file does not necessarily remove every possible identifying characteristic from its contents. Users remain responsible for reviewing the resulting file where privacy is particularly important.
14. Service Availability
FilePriv is provided on an availability basis and may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, infrastructure problems, network issues, software failures, security incidents, or circumstances outside our control.
We do not guarantee that FilePriv will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, file format, or operating environment.
15. Processing Results
File conversion and processing tools depend on underlying software, file structures, formats, and other technical factors.
FilePriv does not guarantee that every uploaded file will process successfully or that a generated result will be identical to the original file in every respect.
Some formatting, embedded content, fonts, metadata, interactive elements, or other characteristics may change during conversion.
You should inspect important converted files before relying on them for business, legal, financial, archival, or other critical purposes.
16. No Backup Service
FilePriv is not a backup service, archival system, document management platform, or permanent cloud storage provider.
Temporary copies may be deleted automatically, and completed results may become unavailable.
You are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of original files and any processed results that you need to retain.
17. Intellectual Property
FilePriv and its associated software, branding, website design, text, logos, interfaces, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except where expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, sell, or commercially exploit FilePriv's proprietary components without appropriate authorization.
Your use of FilePriv does not grant you ownership of any FilePriv intellectual property.
18. Your Content
You retain your rights in content and files that you upload, subject to any rights necessary for FilePriv to operate the requested service.
By submitting a file for processing, you grant FilePriv the limited technical permission necessary to receive, store, process, convert, transmit, and return that file as required to provide the requested functionality.
This permission exists only for the purposes necessary to operate the relevant service and does not constitute a transfer of ownership of your content to FilePriv.
19. Security and Abuse Prevention
FilePriv may implement technical safeguards designed to protect the service and its users from abuse, malicious activity, unauthorized access, excessive resource usage, automated attacks, and other threats.
These safeguards may occasionally result in legitimate activity being restricted or delayed where necessary to protect the overall service.
Attempts to circumvent security or abuse-prevention mechanisms are prohibited.
20. Third-Party Services
FilePriv may depend on third-party infrastructure, payment providers, software components, hosting providers, network services, or other external systems.
Third- Party services may have their own terms and policies. FilePriv cannot guarantee the availability, performance, security, or continued operation of services controlled by independent third parties.
21. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FilePriv is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
FilePriv does not guarantee that the service will meet every particular requirement, operate without interruption, process every file successfully, or produce results suitable for every intended purpose.
You use the service at your own discretion and risk.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FilePriv will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other losses arising from or related to your use of the service.
This may include loss of files, loss of data, loss of business opportunities, loss of profits, service interruptions, processing errors, or reliance on generated results.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
23. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to take responsibility for claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of FilePriv, violation of these Terms, infringement of third party rights, or content you submit to the service.
24. Suspension or Termination
FilePriv may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the service where reasonably necessary to protect the service, enforce these Terms, address abuse, comply with legal requirements, or respond to security concerns.
Where access is terminated, temporary files and associated processing data may continue to be subject to normal cleanup procedures.
Termination of access does not necessarily eliminate obligations that by their nature should continue after termination.
25. Changes to the Service
FilePriv may add, remove, modify, suspend, or discontinue features as the service develops.
This may include changes to supported file formats, processing limits, free usage allowances, Pro functionality, pricing, interfaces, or technical infrastructure.
Continued development of the service does not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available indefinitely.
26. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the service, applicable law, technology, or operational practices.
The latest version will be made available on this page. Where appropriate, significant changes may be communicated through the website or other reasonable means.
Your continued use of FilePriv after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, subject to applicable law.
27. Governing Law
These Terms are subject to the applicable laws governing the operation of the FilePriv service, except to the extent that mandatory consumer protection or other applicable laws provide otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded or waived.
28. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
29. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any additional terms specifically presented for particular FilePriv features or purchases, constitute the agreement governing your use of the relevant FilePriv services.
If a specific service has additional terms that expressly apply to that service, those terms will supplement these general Terms to the extent applicable.
30. Contact
If you have a question about these Terms, a FilePriv feature, a Pro purchase, or your use of the service, you can contact FilePriv through the contact method provided on the website.
When contacting FilePriv, please provide sufficient information to identify the issue without unnecessarily including sensitive personal information.
FilePriv is an online file-processing service and should not be treated as a permanent storage, backup, archival, or guaranteed availability service. Always retain your own copies of important files and verify important processing results before relying on them.
